Monika Glosowitz (born 1986 in Rybnik) – PhD, works as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Literary Studies of University of Silesia and a Research Associate in Deindustrialization and the Politics of Our Time project. For the past two decades, she has been engaged in critical literary studies, leaning towards feminist cultural anthropology and environmental humanities.
She directs the project Memoirs of Women from Mining Families and runs the Archive of Memoirs of Rybniczanek and Rybniczan Women, edits the scientific series Critical Studies of Women's Narratives from Industrial Regions at the University of Silesia Publishing House, and the poetic Everywhere on Earth is an Equinox at Katalog Press. She has recently edited Opowieści kobiet z rodzin górniczych (2024). Awarded with Gliwice Literary Prize (2025) and Poznań Literary Award - Stanisław Barańczak Scholarship (2020) for Maszynerie afektywne. Literackie strategie emancypacji w najnowszej polskiej poezji kobiecej (IBL PAN, 2019). Until 2024, she was a juror of the Silesius Poetry Prize in Wrocław. From 2018 to 2020, she was chairwoman of the Rybnik Council of Women.
She holds PhDs from the Universities of Silesia and University of Oviedo, MAs in gender studies (University of Utrecht and University of Granada).
